Preserving five historical settlements dating back to the eighteenth
century, San Antonio Missions National Historic Park includes the Alamo
(Mission San Antonio de Valero), Mission Concepción, Mission
San José, Mission San Juan and Mission Espada.
Day Trip Suggestion
Avoid the crowds and lines at the Alamo and visit the Mission San
José with it's well preserved mission church, defensive walls
and associated buildings. The mission can be visited as a stop on the
12 mile Mission Trail as you discover the history
of the missions and their part in the turbulent history of Texas
settlement and battle.
